Terms of Service

Last updated: this is a beta — expect this to be revised as the product matures.

The service

Virdl is a VS Code extension that shows sponsored content during natural waiting moments in your editor (builds, AI generation, tests) and pays developers for verified impressions. Clicks are tracked for advertiser reporting only and are never paid — only impressions that pass our server-side verification are credited. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect.

Eligibility

You must have a valid GitHub account and be legally able to enter into this agreement. One account per person — creating multiple accounts to increase earnings is a violation of these terms.

Earnings & payouts

Prohibited conduct

You may not, and may not attempt to:

Violating any of the above may result in your account being paused or banned and any unpaid balance forfeited.

Advertisers

Campaigns and creatives are currently reviewed and configured by us directly (no self-serve advertiser signup yet). Advertisers are charged only for verified impressions at their configured CPM; we do not guarantee any specific level of delivery or results.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms, at our discretion.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves during and after beta. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
